ARCTIC HEAT TECHNOLOGY ADVANCES FOR INDUSTRY
_______________________________________________________________________
Just as elite athletes need help to cool down pre, during or after championship events, so too do workers exposed to extreme conditions or continuous heat in the course of their duties.
Arctic Heat Body Cooling Vests which have already been acclaimed throughout industry have now made major advancements with the vests to cover all facets of industrial use to help employers protect their staff and meet occupational health and safety objectives.
The Arctic Heat Vest can now be manufactured in safety yellow or orange and can be manufactured in fully fire resistant material, also if needed silver reflective strip can be added. With these advancements it can now be used as an outer garment if required. The fire resistant vest will be a special order.
The technology does not change the makeup of the vest in any way. Arctic Heat has introduced his Safety Cooling Vest based on the same technology increasingly used by Top-Athlets around the world.
The lightweight (max. 800 - 1.000g), comfortable (no thicker than a singlet) and easy-to-use vests - tested and approved by the CSIRO - are manufactured from proven body cooling materials, including Sportswool®, microfibre and pockets of gel that hold any temperature long periods, including following refrigeration. Sportswool is a new body cooling material developed by the CSIRO and the Woolmark company, incorporating a unique high-performance composite of bi-component structures of Merino wool with other fibres to take advantage of wool's unique properties.
Back of the vest has only three panels filled with gel to keep cold away from Kidney area.
For best effect the vest should be warn as close to the skin as possible. |
The technology in the vests was originally developed in response to heat exhaustion problems, including deaths, resulting from extreme performances.
While workers may not be exposed to the same level of heat stress in their everyday work, there are plenty of situations where this type of apparel can be beneficially worn after continual exertion or exposure to heat, acting to stabilise core body temperature, help prevent heat stress and hasten recovery.
Just as you may see athletes putting on the vests pre, during or after matches, you can also see a lot of situations where people are exposed to sun or indoor heat while welding, cooking, metal processing, fire fighting, working on farms, wearing heavy apparel, driving in extreme conditions, emergency service, medical, road sealing, maintaining telecommunication and electricity lines and working on mining, military, police, construction and railway infrastructure etc. |
Chief benefits of the vests include:
| * |
A drop in skin temperature of up to 17° C |
| * |
Rapid improvement of perceived thermal comfort |
| * |
A drop in core body temperature of approx 0.5° C (core temperature for a human being is about 37.5° C. Extreme variations of more than 4 degrees can kill). | |
Arctic Heat continues to be the pace setter in body cooling garments continually being at the forefront with their technology while still maintaining reasonable prices. |
